Permission issues. Fed up with 'You do not have permission to.....' First, the important intro: I'm running two Win7 systems: my desktop runs 64bit Win7 Ultimate, the laptop is Win7 64bit home version. Both were clean installs, are routinely scanned for viruses, malware, hardware problems, regularly defragged, etc. I run lean machines; the only TSR (for all you DOS... | General Discussion | |||
You need permission - happening on networked drive that has permission Have looked at the other postings about Windows 7 and 'You need permission' - this one seems new. I have a laptop and a desktop both running Windows 7, both part of HOMEGROUP. The desktop has two hard drives (C and D), both shared with full access to EVERYONE. Don't have permission... Hello all: I'm having trouble with some files that aren't allowing me access. I recently brought back an old image of my machine to a folder on the desktop. I had to rebuild the hard drive and wanted to salvage some files from the backup image. Anyway, I'm done with the major moving and have transferred a copy to an external drive to pick through later, but now when I try to delete some of the folders I get the error:
You need permission to perform this action.
You require permission from [old computer name and username] to make changes to this folder.
Consequently, there are a bunch of folders I cannot delete. I attempted deleting them from a command prompt but it was only able to delete the files that don't receive this error. So is there a way to get rid of these, or will I need to download some sort of file shredder? If so, which one is the recommended one these days?
Thanks!

In a few seconds, the Malwarebytes cleaner will uninstall itself from your Mac. At first glance, it seems easy. But we decided to check whether all the Malwarebytes files were removed completely. To find Malwarebytes files, we used a free app Funter, which allows you to find system hidden files on Mac. On the screenshot below you can see, that Malwarebytes left some files related to the app. Although I thought I did the same in my new Windows 10 machine, MANY of the actions I take, such as adding or deleting folders as well as changing other parameters, I get s Dialog Warning stating that I need the Administrator’s permission to do that.
